PLEASE READ THIS FIRST:

This is a story based on the club I own (the dA-ZOO). It's a POSSIBILITY of how we all ended up there as devious animals. Characters used in here DA users. The names that are used are the nicknames they gave up, but for those who didn't give a nickname (yet) the username or name under the username is used. Also not all the dA-ZOO animals are used, I'm really sorry about that.






A young girl, at the age of sixteen, was slowly moving; waking up from her slumber. She yawned and sat up, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Soon she noticed something was different from where she had been before she fell asleep. First of was the floor, it was hard instead of the soft mattresses of her bed.
Her sleep was completely vanished when she saw bars in the barely lit chamber. She jumped to her feet and grabbed the bars. Wondering what was going on she scanned the area. Across the room; right next to the door there were keys. Though they were too far away to reach. Then, all of a sudden the door opened and light filled the room. The girl closed her eyes a little, not used to the light.
   “Ah, you are up, young tiger girl. Don’t worry, here you will be safe.”
   “Tiger girl? What on earth are you talking about? And let me out!”
   “Oh, you can actually speak. Haven’t seen a lot of your lot being able to speak. You must have lived with some human for a long time to be able to talk our language.”
   “What are you talking about?! I AM human!”
   “I think you need a reality check little girl, maybe you hit your head a bit too hard before I found you. But don’t worry, you’ll be safe here. No one will harm you. But you might be hungry, let me get you some fresh meat. I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
The odd man left as the girl dropped down, crossing her arm, trying to figure out what on earth was going on.
   “Sheesh, I think HE needs a reality check. They should lock him up, he’s crazy. Maybe he’s a pervert… a-and he’ll take advantage of m-me.”
She shook her head to get rid of scary thoughts that crossed her mind.
   “Tiger girl… sheesh.”
But then she saw some tiger tail in front of her face, her eyes widened and she rapidly turned around only to find out the tail was going to her back. Getting a little scared she looked over her shoulder and her fear was confirmed.
   “T-t-tail?!” she screamed in shock.
She grabbed it, stroke it, pulled at it tried to move it without holding it and all these things told her it was really HER tail.
   “So that’s why he called me tiger girl… wait, don’t tell me…”
Slowly the sixteen year old reach to her head and found a pair of tiger ears on the top. Scared she gazed in front of her. Soon the man came back with the meat he had promised, he gave it to the girl and after that left again. It was then the girl let out her frustration.
   “NOOOOOO!” it sounded.

dA-ZOO PRESENTS:

THE dA-ZOO STORY; HOW IT ALL BEGAN

   “Whaaaa!” a voice screamed followed by some crashing sounds. “Ouch ouch ouch, now what the hell WAS that? And where am I?”
The girl sat up rubbing the hurting spot. She was lucky she didn’t break anything; then again she never had broken anything. She stood up and looked around, having no idea of where she could be. It seemed like a forest and up ahead she saw a sign saying there was a town close by. She shrugged her shoulders and started walking in the direction the sign pointed at.

   “I’m telling you! I’m human! I don’t know how I got these ears and tail! I bet you did some scary experiment on me!”
   “You shouldn’t shout so much, tiger girl.”
   “Stop calling me tiger girl, it’s NS!”
   “Whatever tiger girl. You should stop trying to escape. Out there are only people who want to kill. You’re better of here. Here’s your meal, sleep well.” The dark haired man left and NS let out a growl.
   “He’s really unreasonable… isn’t he?” another girl yawned.
   “He is. And could you at least TRY to help me out of here?”
   “Do I have to? I mean, I don’t need to do anything here. The only downside is the cage isn’t very comfortable but I can sleep as much as I want,” the girl smiled which made NS sigh.
   “You haven’t been here for a week. You just came in just yesterday. Would you really like to stay in a cage forever, Kitty?”
Shocked the red haired looked at the tiger. Eventually she shook her head.
   “I guess not.”

Panting a girl stopped behind the trees.
   “Are they gone?” she wondered and sniffed around. The scents of her chasers had disappeared.
   “I shouldn’t have gone to that town, but seriously how did I end up with a tail?”
She waged her wolf tail a little as a smile appeared on her face.
   “Though… I don’t mind it that much. I wonder what…”
She stopped talking to herself when new scents came to her nose. Rapidly she turned around and found new people, holding a hyena look a like guy.
   “Let go you damn bastards!”
He tried to bite his opponents with little success. Two of them pushed him to the ground and tied a rope around his wrists. The hyena guy struggled, but it only worsened his condition.
   “Wait until I get free, you will pay for this you heard me?!”
The men tying him up merely laughed. However the guy had found a opening to bite the one sitting in front of him. The man that was bitten struggled and got his, badly bleeding, hand back. They carried the hyena away, who was laughing at the bleeding man.
The wolf girl dared to breathe again when they were all gone.
   “Squeak, they managed to get Darkca.”
The wolf girl jumped a feet in the air and rapidly turn around only to find a girl with mouse ears.
   “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you,” she said, “I’m Bathany.”
   “Uhm hey, I’m Meje. Could you explain me what is going on in this world?”
   “Not sure myself, I suddenly came here looking like a mouse about two days ago. I found Darkca but he’s kinda a loner so I didn’t bug him. Did you just arrive?”
   “No, actually I have been here for a week, I went to that close by town. Which took longer than expected because somehow animal instinct is taking me over and I got distracted quite a few times, including getting lost as well,” Meje explained embarrassed.
   “Wow a week and you didn’t get caught.”
   “What do you mean?”
   “Those men, they catch people like us; those who look like animals. I have no idea where they are taken to though. Maybe they’re being…” The mouse girl shuddered.
   “Don’t tell me they kill them?” Meje asked scared.
   “M-maybe.”
Their conversation was halted when a set of arrows came through the bushes. Meje managed to jump away but Bathany was hit by the next set.
   “Oh no, these are poisoned as well. Run, Meje.”
   “Are you insane? Do you think I would leave you behind like this?!”
   “Safe yourself while you can, find out where everyone is taken to, you know my scent now. Follow it the next day.”
Hesitating Meje eventually did what the mouse girl said and ran off.

NS looked up when the door opened. It wasn’t ‘feeding’ time so it could only mean a new one was coming to join them.
   “Tiger girl be nice to the mouse. No eating her. You know what, I put you in the cage at the other side of the room, mouse girl.”
   “Let us out you psycho!” the hyena shouted, “you cannot lock up human’s!”
   “Darkca, it’s no use,” NS said as she saw the keys in the hands of the black haired man that was locking them up, “he sees us as animals.”
The man walked over to NS after locking up the mouse.
   “But tiger girl, you are an animal. The only difference between you all here and the animals you have been referring to is you are more intelligent. Now be nice to your new friend.”
The man turned around and NS snatched the keys away, he didn’t notice. After the door was being closed the new let out a sigh.
   “Thank goodness, I’m not dead.”
   “Yeah, locked up is always better than being killed,” the panther yawned and laid down to catch some sleep.
   “But not for long, I’m outta here,” NS laughed as she placed the key in the lock.
She turned and the next moment she was free. After that she went over to Kitty, however the door opened again. A surprised man was looking at NS.
   “Bad tiger girl!”
NS dropped the keys in the panther’s cage and ran away, she managed to avoid the arms of the man that was keeping her locked up for a week by now.
   “Bye you sucker. Kitty, free the others and eat him or something! Whoho, freedome!”
Outside NS directly ran over to the forest.

   “Will I really be able to find her again,” Meje sighed.
She stopped walking when she heard something. Looking up she saw someone coming closer. Too stunned about the fact it was a girl looking like a tiger and the fact she was chased by someone, even shouted words towards him, Meje kept on standing still. The girl running in her direction happened to look over her shoulder to see how far her pursuer was away and when turning back looking in front of her it was already too late and she bumped against Meje. Both fell down and the pursuer threw a net over the two.
   “EH! What is this?” Meje let out in shock, trying to free herself.
   “GAH! Damn, the stupid bastard caught up.”
   “Who are you?”
   “NS, and that idiot over there is trying to lock everyone up. OI! BE MORE CAREFULL, YOU DAMN PSYHO!”
The man didn’t listen and dragged the net with the two in out back to his place.
   “I also saved a wolf, how nice. Don’t worry tiger girl, wolf girl. You’ll both be safe at my place.”

A few hours of struggling to get free were in vane and NS was thrown back in her old cage while Meje was locked up in the on next to it. The bars here were crossed and she could climb on in as if it were a ladder.
   “Welcome back, NS,” a dog boy barked.
He was chained up to a pin in the wall and the only one not in a cage, maybe because he was a dog.
   “Shut up King,” NS growled.
The door was closed once again.
   “Well… at least I’m not dead…” Meje muttered.
   “Oh yeah, you’re not dead alright. But this is pure suffering! You’ll get crazy in such a small cage after a week. Next to that the man is an idiot. He thinks we’re animals. ANIMALS, for pete’s sake!”
   “We do look like it a bit, though it’s not a reason for putting us in these small cages… that I know,” Meje commented sweat dropping as she saw NS’ glare.
   “So you are?” King asked.
   “Ah? Oh, I’m Meje… a grey wolf I guess…” she said as she looked at her tail.
Meje looked around and found a lot of others. On NS’ right was a panther girl and across her was a hyena; the one she saw earlier on being caught by people. Next to the hyena was the mouse. Then there was a red panda girl and the dog.
   “We need to get out of here and quick,” NS commented.
   “Okay but how?” Meje asked, “Your attempt earlier on was a failure.”
   “I hate to admit it but we need to work together,” Darkca said.
   “Meje it looks like you can get through those bars,” King barked.
The girl mention looked at the bars and stick her head through the bars.
   “Hey, you’re right.”
Her arms followed but after that she seemed to hesitate.
   “Uhm, if I stick my legs through I’m gonna fall.”
   “Maybe feet first will help,” NS said slightly annoyed, making Meje sweatdrop a little as went back and this time just crawled out.
   “You should eat more,” the Hyena said.
   “You have no idea how much I eat!”
   “YOU SHOULDN’T TALK LIKE THAT OVER A GIRL’S FIGURE!” the panther girl shouted to the Hyena, scaring him a little.
   “Kitty, calm down,” NS said.
   “I just get cranky without my music for a week!”
In the mean time Meje had unleashed King. But at this point the door opened once again.
   “You naughty animals, you should stay quiet… HEY.”
   “RUN KING RUN!” Meje shouted.
   “Come back you bad dog!”
   “Come and try to get me,” King yelled back with a playful voice.
The man ran after King who suddenly turned around and jumped on him. He got the keys and threw them over to Meje who caught the keys and quickly freed the others. Then the group stood around the man that had caught them.
   “Who are you and why did you lock us up?” NS demanded to know as she pointed over to him.
   “I’m just an animal lover. And for the locking up part; that wasn’t gonna be forever. Just until I finished the bigger cages outside.”
Confused they looked at each other.
   “I still don’t understand. We’re not animals, we merely got the ears and the tail and sometimes some stripes or spots on our faces and arms but we clearly look like human… a bit like a furry I got to say,” Meje said.
   “I don’t know what a furry is,” the man on the floor said afraid, since some other were giving him a death glare.
   “Anyhow, we’re not animals. We didn’t even these… tails and ears. We got them when we came to this place, whatever this place is,” NS said stubbornly.

Then there was loud knocking on the door.
   “Steve! Open that door! NOW!” someone shouted.
The man on the floor looked somewhat shocked by this.
   “Oh no, not them...” he whispered and looked around, “if they see you all out of your caged they will kill you. Please trust me and go back in. I promise to let you all out as soon they’re gone.”
The animal look a likes looked at each other as there was more knocking. They seemed to agree. And back, even NS did so.
   “But King stays loose,” Meje said and after the man, known as Steve, nodded she closed her cage.
King followed Steve to the front door which was opened shortly after arriving there. A couple of men stood behind the door, holding yet another ‘animal’, it had chains around its arms and legs.
   “Since when are you letting them run around loose?!” one asked.
   “But he’s just a dog, he doesn’t harm anyone right King?”
King sat down and wagged his tail. The men threw the dog boy a glare and then turned their attention back to Steve.
   “Fine, whatever. You stupid zoo idea won’t work though. No-one is willing to help you as you have notices by now. These animals are a pest we should just kill them.”
   “Especially this one here,” the fat one among them said giving an annoyed look to the animal beside him.
   “Poke… poke… poke…” the tiger looking one said as he poked the fat man in his side.
Getting enough of the poking the fat man threw the poking one inside.
   “Ouch,” the figure muttered as at crawled up.
   “Mind our words. Your plan is a failure, just like you are,” on of the men said and then the group left.
Steve confirmed this ‘animal’ was a golden tabby tiger and then got rid of the chains which he dumped in the dustbin. He brought the golden tabby to the other room and was once again followed by King the German shepherd who lay down next to the door opening.
   “He wants to make a zoo with us in it,” the dog calmly said as he licked his hand.
   “What?!” the group called out in shock.
   “We’re not here so you can make some stupid money you psycho!” NS shouted.
   “It’s not for the money, it’s so they can see you wouldn’t harm people. Besides it would look like a zoo outside so I thought…”
   “We don’t want to hear that I thought story,” Meje growled, “And we don’t want to be locked up anymore.”
   “I’m alone with building your outside exhibits, it takes time,” Steve muttered
   “Then let us help…” Meje said before realising.
   “Who’s says I want to!” Darkca shouted.
   “If you don’t want to be locked up in this place all the time you have to work along,” NS sneered, liking the idea just a little.
   “B-but… if they s-see you outside you cages…”
   “I already have an idea for that,” Meje smiled deviously.

Two weeks later the exhibits were finished… well just the ones for the animals that were caught in the first three weeks. They still were working on some of new exhibits for the newer animals. Meje’s idea of putting chains around everyone’s legs so it would seem they couldn’t escape worked pretty well.
   “Iccolo! Come down that tree it’s dinner time!” Meje shouted up.
She was standing in the golden tabby tiger exhibit underneath iccolo, the tiger that liked to poke people, favourite napping tree. The one mentioned shock up and as result fell out of the tree and landed in the bushes. These scene made Meje sweat drop because it often happened.
   “Ouch… I just lost another life.”
   “Then stop sleeping in a tree or tie yourself to the branch or something, come on before all the food is gone.”
   “If this were to be a real zoo we wouldn’t have to walk to the food but it would be thrown in our exhibits,” Iccolo growled.
Meje rolled her eyes as she went over to the Artic wolf habitat.
   “Takeshi! Umne! Dinner time!”
   “FOOD YAY”
The two jumped over the wooden hedge and joined Meje and Iccolo. In the animal cafeteria they met up with NS, Darkca, Kitty, Bethany and King. They all started eating sometimes fighting over a piece of food.
However at one point the door was opened making everyone look around. It was Steve, the strange man that kept them in cages for weeks, who entered. Though he was followed by a green haired girl.
   “Hey, everyone. I would like you all to meet Emerald. She will be the zookeeper, so from now on she will bring you all your food,” Steve said somewhat uncomfortable.
   “I will do my very best,” Emerald smiled.
   “Finally, now we don’t need to walk over to here to eat something,” Iccolo sighed.
King ran over to Emerald and ran a couple of circles around her, making Emerald laugh a little.
   “Also… I… I was thinking…” Steve continued getting some not trusting looks directed at him, “You see, you animals eat quite a lot and it’s hard for me to pay all of that food. So… so I was thinking about making this a real zoo. People have to pay to enter and the money is used to buy food and build new exhibits and… and such…”
Meje looked thoughtful at the man.
   “I guess we need to discuss this,” she said and turned her attention to the others, “what do you guys think.”
   “I think he’s tricking us,” NS snarled putting some new meat in her mouth.
   “We could always attack him if he tries to use the money for something else,” Takeshi mentioned.
   “True,” Meje agreed, “Shall we give him a change… if he does something else with the money we lock him up.”
They all agreed with that.
   “Fine you can make it a Zoo but don’t dare to do anything stupid, psycho,” NS said letting out a growl.
Shivering a little Steve nodded and left together with Emerald.

The next morning they were awaken by voices from people. Darkce, not liking all the pointing people that were suddenly standing in front of his cage went inside his little house to continue his sleep there.
Takeshi and Umne completely ignored the crowd and continued throwing snowballs at each other, but soon changed their came and tried to hit Iccolo in the a tree in his exhibit that was right next to the Artic wolf exhibit. Iccolo almost fell out of his tree when he was hit and sneered a stop it towards the two Artic wolves.
Getting near the evening everyone left and Meje leaned on the stone hedge of her exhibit.
   “I don’t like to be pointed at,” she sighed.
   “This is just really annoying,” NS agreed, she had come out of her habitat as soon the people were gone.
Suddenly King came running over to them.
   “Has any of you seen my bones,” he cried.
   “No but you can have this one,” Meje said sweat dropping as well did NS.
King caught the bone Meje threw at him. At that point Emerald came rushing over.
   “You’re late,” both NS and Meje stated.
   “S-sorry,” Emerald muttered, “I’m still new to this and I’m all alone and and…”
Both animal girl’s sighed and it was then Emerald spotted NS being out of her cage.
   “You shouldn’t be here,” she said to the tiger girl.
   “I got bored in that place, besides the so called Zoo is closed now, so it’s okay.”
Meje let out a snort but then turned her nose to the sky, confusing NS, Emerald and King.
   “What’s up Meje,” King asked curious.
   “That… that can’t be…” Meje whispered.
The other still had no clue of what was going on but would soon find out for a figure jumped out of nowhere over the low hedge and landed on Meje.
   “WHA! That red fox is attacking Meje!” King yelled.
You could not have been less true for the fox was attacking the girl but licking. Meje seemed to be too shocked to respond yet but she would soon.
   “Dr-Drenic what are you doing here?! A-and you’re a-a f-fox… stop th-the licking…”
   “Sorry…”
The red fox came off as he wagged his tail in joy.
   “I’m just happy to see you again.”
   “I figured that much,” Meje blushed and noticed the confused looks from the others, “Uhm… he’s my boyfriend.”
   “Oh, we didn’t know. You didn’t tell you had a boyfriend,” NS said teasing.
   “Nevertheless, he needs to get a medical check like all the others and a shot…” Emerald started.
   “Uh-oh…” Meje muttered as she turned her attention to her boyfriend who seemed to back away from Emerald.
   “Sh-shot…?” he asked with fear in his voice.
Meje glomped him so he couldn’t get away AND so Emerald couldn’t take with her.
   “He doesn’t need, really, Emerald,” she tried.
   “You know those are the rules, you all agreed with it I heard.”
   “I don’t want a shot, no way!”
   “Calm down, it will be okay,” Meje whispered to her boyfriend.
   “I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying right here!” he shouted stubbornly to Emerald who let out a sigh.
The only zookeeper of the devious Animals Zoo left.
   “I think she gave up,” King said and started licking his new bone.
   “I’m not so sure about it,” Meje muttered as she looked in the direction Emerald had gone.
Drenic turned around and looked at her.
   “I didn’t think I would find you here,” he grinned whilst blushing.
   “Yeah… well I’ve been here for a couple of weeks already. How did you find me?”
   “I was just trying to find out where the hell I was, trying to avoid those ridiculous hunters that don’t believe I suddenly got these ears and the tail, when I picked up your scent. Really strange, I felt like a dog… but I’m a fox so apparently I can smell better now since it was miles away from here when I picked up your scent,” Drenic explained and then hugged Meje who in turn blushed, “How did you get here?”
   “No idea. I suddenly got caught by Steve, the stupid idiot that runs the Zoo. We have an agreement with him for now and… uh-oh there you have him with… oh noes.”
Confused Drenic looked around while NS was watching the scene with interest. Drenic got somewhat scared when he saw the thing that this Steve person had brought along.
   “Ah a fox boy, this time a red fox. Good we didn’t have a red fox yet,” Steve smiled, “Now fox boy, I need to give you a check up. Don’t worry I was a vet before I started this Zoo.”
Steve examined Drenic from head to toe.
   “He’s healthy indeed. However we need to avoid animals getting ill so I better give you a vaccination.”
   “He shouldn’t have said that,” Meje sighed as she slapped her hand on her face.
Drenic suddenly jumped over the hedge again and dashed away. Meje was the first to go after him followed by NS (finding this too funny not to see) King (too curious to not to follow) Emerald (she was the zookeeper after all) and Steve (with the shot reading in his doctors bag. Drenic ran around the whole zoo, not so difficult when its still a small zoo, causing quite an uproar. More and more devious animals started to follow.
In the end Meje jumped on Drenic’s back causing him to fall.
   “Get off me! You know I don’t like shots!”
   “I know, don’t worry though. Promise me to stop running and I’ll get off you,” she said as she licked his cheek.
This caused him to blush a little as he made a ‘hm’. Meje stood up and he turned around so he was sitting and looking at her.
   “Thanks Meje, now…” Steve began.
   “Wait a moment, Steve,” Meje commanded though looking at her boyfriend, “Stay here okay?”
   “Arf,” Drenic replied making Meje snort.
She stood up and walked over to Steve and the devious animals.
   “Does he need that shot?” she asked sounding worried.
   “Yes, animals that look like human though with just the tail and ears get sick really easily.”
   “But… he doesn’t like them. Isn’t there another option?”
   “Why don’t you distract him with something?” Takeshi suggested.
   “How?” Meje replied confused as she looked over to the artic wolf.
   “How about kissing him,” NS grinned with a devious smile.
   “Eh…?” Meje let out somewhat shocked, “Uhm do I have to?”
   “Come on you’re his girlfriend,” King barked.
   “That is Meje’s boyfriend? But he’s a red fox,” Umne said surprised.
   “Well he wasn’t before remember,” Kitty the panther girl said.
   “Anyhow, Meje go kiss him and while you kiss him Steve can give him the shot,” NS said softly so Drenic couldn’t hear.
Meje looked around and sighed.
   “Fine,” she mumbled, not liking the idea of everyone watching it with a curious look, “if there really is no other option.”
She walked back to her boyfriend, followed by Steve.
   “Don’t worry fox boy I just need to know you name so I can register you,” Steve said.
   “Uhm… Drenic…”
   “Ah good good. Well welcome to the devious animals zoo.”
Drenic nodded but had his attention focused on his girlfriend who had kneeled down in front of him. She looked somewhat uncomfortable.
   “Sorry, Drenic,” she said.
   “For – ” he was caught of by Meje who kissed him on his mouth, making him forget the rest around him.
When the stopped kissing there were giggles coming from behind Meje’s back.
   “What are you sorry for?” Drenic asked confused.
Meje looked over to his left arm and Steve who was holding an empty shot.
   “There, all finished,” Steve smiled.
Realising what had happened when he was kissing his girlfriend made Drenic turn as white as a sheet (probably also because the needle just came out of his arm when he looked) and finally faint.
NS let out a snort, “Nice boyfriend you have, Meje.”
   “HEY!”
   “No, I mean it. I’m just laughing because he fainted after seeing the needle.
   “Well… it’s cute,” Meje muttered with a blush making the others laugh, “Anyhow could someone help me carrying him to a bed? He’s too heavy for just me.”
   “Steve! We got a red panda for ya! Come open this gate already!” came from not that far.
Steve rushed away as Meje, Takeshi, Iccolo, NS and King carried Drenic to the grey wolf exhibit.
   “Shouldn’t he be going to a new one… the one for red foxes,” Emerald asked confused.
   “Later, for now it will be okay if he’s with me,” Meje smiled to her.
   “Uhm, okay.”
